SCUBA: Basic Open Water Course - $180.00

Get your PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) SCUBA certification. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to SCUBA dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The PADI Basic Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular SCUBA course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. Opportunities for open water dives to complete certification will be discussed in class.
NOTE: This program fee covers in-class sessions, pool sessions, dive equipment (excluding wetsuit, snorkel, and fins), and course materials (dive manual). In order to receive the PADI Basic Open Water Diver certification, students will need to participate in a qualifying exit dive. The exit dive trip and fees are NOT included in this course, but students will be presented with options to register for qualifying dive trips at the end of the course.

This class meets on Wednesdays for MANDATORY classroom sessions (9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2) in Ramsey from 6:30-10 p.m, classroom 225. Thursday & Monday pool sessions (6:30-10 p.m.) are in the Ramsey Center Natatorium. Participants will select one Thursday (9/19, 9/26, 10/3 ) and one Monday (9/23, 9/30, 10/7) pool session to attend during the first class meeting.

COST:
$170: currently registered UGA students
$180: UGA Faculty/Staff who are current Ramsey members

Sign up online or in-person at the Recreational Sports Member Services desk, 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday-Friday. Please make sure to pick up a copy of the Course Manual at the Member Services desk before the course begins. Clinics and trips fill on a first-come, first-served basis and waiting lists will be kept. There is an 20-person limit to this class.
